No photo’s of beautiful buildings this time, but photo’s taken in the opposite direction. My assistent Giles and me at work on an exteriorshoot. Working tethered to the laptop with a Cambo WRS technical camera with schneider digitar lenses and the Phase-One digital back. But also the PhaseOne medium format camera .

Voor Sigma heb ik de Sigma Merill DP 1 getest, een high eind compactcamera met verbluffende beeldkwaliteit. Door de speciale sensortechniek en het goede objectief zijn de foto’s scherper en gedetaileerder dan met menig spiegelreflex camera. (Klik op de foto voor het hele artikel)

For Sigma I first tested the Sigma DP MerrillDP1 a high-end compact camera with amazing picture quality. The special sensor technology and good lens create  sharper and more detailed photo’s than many SLR camera. (Click on the picture for full article)

My name is Giles Watson and I am a photography student from the University of Portsmouth in the UK and will be assisting Ronald during my time in the Netherlands.

I am primeraly a documentary photographer and retoucher, but I am looking to get experience in different genres of photography, pushing myself out of my comfort zone.

I am very happy to be working in such a vibrant and lively city and to be working along side Ronald. I feel my stay here will be very benificial and I am looking forward to getting stuck in to some interesting projects.

Mijn naam is Giles Watson en ik ben een student fotografie aan de Universiteit van Portsmouth in het Verenigd Koninkrijk en zal  Ronald assisteren tijdens mijn tijd in Nederland.

Ik ben vooral een documentaire fotograaf en retoucheur, maar ik ben op zoek naar ervaring  in verschillende genres van de fotografie, ik ga graag uit mijn comfort zone om me beter te ontwikkelen als fotograaf.

Ik ben erg blij om te gaan werken in zo’n bruisende en levendige stad en om samen te werken met Ronald. Ik hoop veel te leren tijdens mijn verblijf hier. Ik kijk ernaar om met Ronald een  een aantal interessante projecten te gaan doen.

LEVEL will accommodate not only the users of ROC, but also commercial parties such as offices and commercial businesses. Every day many different users will occupy LEVEL: passers-by of the Central Station (the route to and from Central Station – the LUMC-hospital and the bus stop is prominent), neighbors, employees of the commercial offices and thousands students of the ROC will meet in the building. The building is thought as a small city, where people work, study, shop en meet.
The entrance hall on ground and first floor are filled with commercial functions. On first floor, next to the commercial functions, are also the shops of ROC. The ROC, situated on the second floor and above, is accessed by wide stairs. From here students and other users can use elevators or smaller stairs in the voids to access the communal areas of the school at higher located floors. From these bigger, shared areas the individual study and workplaces and class rooms are accessed.
The hotel is located on the 9th and 10 the floor. Floors 11 and 12 contain the congress rooms, offices and the restaurant. The offices and the hotel have their own separate entrances.
