Patti Smith wins National Book Award for memoir on life with Mapplethorpe « Stockland Martel.

Patti Smith was one of my favourite musicians/ poëts in the 70’s.  Robert Mapplethorpe’s photo’s made me discover her music. He  shot the album covers for Horses and Easter.  I bought her records  “Easter”  and  “Horses”  the same day just based on the artwork (without having listened to the music) , and thus discovered her excellent music and lyrics.
